With sales offices in Montreal & New York, the company provides insights into the newest trends and innovations in the industry. While the sourcing team having roots in Hong Kong provides access to a world of premium materials and high-grade manufacturing.

  • At the age 19, company founder Franco Cuffaro pursues his dream, opening a retail store in the heart of Montreal's Little Italy district. Casa Della Borsa (translated to House of Handbags) offers unique footwear and accessories from premium European and Canadian brands.
    1977

    COMPANY'S ROOTS IN RETAIL

  • The transition is made from retail & manufacturing, to importation. Papillon International opens its door, on the historic St Laurent Boulevard in Montreal. The company partners with mid and large sized chains across Canada to develop their handbag collections.
    1983

    PAPILLON IS FOUNDED

  • The company moves its head office and distribution center to a new Montreal facility which spans over 65,000 square feet. All operations - including administration, sales and distribution - to be conducted from this new facility.
    2001

    NEW SALES OFFICE AND DISTRIBUTION FACILITY IN MONTREAL

  • A growing number of successful partnerships in the United States leads to the opening of the New York City Showroom. Located in the Fashion Accessories District on 5th Avenue, the showroom is located steps away from the Empire State Building.
    2008

    SALES OFFICE & SHOWROOM OPENS IN MANHATTAN

  • After years of experience in private label for footwear, Papillon launches the AquaDiva Waterproof boot brand. The brand is a result of demand in the market for a comfort boot brand, offering contemporary styling, premium materials and the utmost comfort.
    2017

    AQUADIVA WATERPROOF MAKES ITS DEBUT

  • Papillon launches Bright Safe Care. The company partners with local government, universities, colleges, pharmacies and others, to successfully aid Canadians across the country protect themselves and their families.

    PAPILLON HELPS PROTECT MILLIONS OF CANADIANS

  • Papillon adds premium European comfort brands Fidelio & Wolky to their footwear distribution brand portfolio.

  • Papillon International product is found worldwide with retail partners across three continents. Its portfolio and expertise include private label, North American distribution, B2B e-commerce and a brand assortment which caters to specialty stores and major retailers alike.
